The Demonstration program is fully functional, with the exception of certain limitations which include a header on all program reports identifying the report as a Breeze Basic Bookkeeper Evaluation report in lieu of the Company Name and the Fiscal Year End processing function is not enabled. You can create a live data file with the Demonstration program that you can continue to use if you purchase a License Key. If you like the program you can order a License Key that will make the Demonstration program that you downloaded a fully functional Licensed version of the program.

How to Download and Install the Demonstration Program

Step 1.) Install Microsoft Data Access 2.1

Breeze Basic Bookkeeper maintains data in a Microsoft Access 2000 database file. You must have Microsoft Data Access 2.1 installed on your system or another version of Microsoft Jet 4.0. If you have Microsoft Access 2000 or Microsoft Access XP installed on your system then you likely already have the needed data access files installed in which case you can bypass this step. However if you encounter error #3633 as discussed in Installation Issue # 2 below you should then install Microsoft Data Access 2.1. Click on the link below to download. Then run the "MDAC_Typ" application on your system.

Step 2) Install the Breeze Basic Bookkeeper Program

The Breeze Basic Bookkeeper program comes packaged in a self extracting WinZip file. Click on the link below to download. Close all other programs prior to running the setup program . Then run the BrzSetup.exe application on your system. Upon running this program you will be presented with the "WinZip Self-Extractor - BrzSetup.exe" dialog. Click Setup to extract the setup files and automatically run the Setup program. This is a one step process handled by the WinZip Self-Extractor. You do not need to extract the files into a directory and then run the Setup program. After the Setup program is launched click Ok to start Setup. Select a program directory or use the default directory as provided. To begin the installation click the button beside "Click this button to install .......". During installation you may encounter file already in use messages such as described in Installation Issue # 1 below. Normally you can just ignore these messages. Once the Setup program is complete, the WinZip Self-Extractor cleans up it's work by Deleting temporary files. The Breeze Basic Bookkeeper program should now appear on your system Programs menu. Click it to start the program.

Step 3) Install the Tutorial (Optional)

Click on the link below to download. You will be presented with the "WinZip Self-Extractor - BrzTutor.exe" dialog. The dialog allows you to Unzip to a folder of your choice. The default folder that was used in the Breeze Basic Bookkeeper setup program in step 2 above (c:\Program Files\Breeze Basic Bookkeeper) is provided as the default folder. The tutorial files should be installed into the program folder wherever it is located otherwise you will be required to locate the tutorial files every time you wish to view them. It is recommended you click Overwrite files without prompting. Then click Unzip to unzip the tutorial files into the selected folder. Close the dialog when complete. Step 4) Install T Account Analyzer (Optional)

The T Account Analyzer program is designed to help the accounting student learn how to record transactions using T Accounts. It requires that the Breeze Basic Bookkeeper program be installed on your system to operate. Click on the link below to download. When you run the Setup program you will be presented with the "WinZip Self-Extractor - TAcctAnalyzer_Setup.exe" dialog. The dialog allows you to Unzip to a folder of your choice. It is recommended you click Overwrite files without prompting. Then click Unzip to unzip the program file into the selected folder. Close the dialog when complete. Use your Windows commands to create a shortcut to the program file.

Installation Problems and Issues

Some problems you may encounter during or after installation are as follows:

During installation you may encounter a message(s) such as "An access violation occurred while copying the file" or "The destination file is in use. Please ensure that all other applications are closed" . These messages indicate that the file that is currently being copied to your system is already installed on your system and is in use. You should ensure all other programs are closed prior to running the Breeze installation program. If you still receive the message after closing all other programs you should ignore and bypass any messages like this as the file is already installed.
Immediately after installation, you may encounter an error message when starting a new data file that refers to error #3633 or when opening an existing file you get a message that the file cannot be opened and may be corrupt. You possibly did not install Microsoft Data Access 2.1. You should run the MDAC_TYP.exe program (Step 1 above)
