or elsewhere in this web site. However, some cross references may be
made below. |
Installation Problems
Some problems you may encounter during or after installation are as
follows:
- During installation you may encounter a message(s) such as
"An access
violation occurred while copying the file"
or "The
destination file is in use. Please ensure that all other
applications are closed"
. These messages indicate that the file that is
currently being copied to your system is already installed on
your system and is in use. You should ensure all other programs
are closed prior to running the Breeze installation program. If
you still receive the message after closing all other programs
you should ignore and bypass any messages like this as the file
is already installed.
- Immediately after installation, you may encounter an error
message when starting a new data file that refers to
error #3633 or
when opening an existing file you get a message that the file
cannot be opened and may be corrupt. You possibly did not
install Microsoft Data Access 2.1. You should run the
MDAC_TYP.exe program.

Post Balances dialog "Posting
Required" remains checked after posting
This problem can occur when you get mixed date formats in the
Posting log. For example some entries are in the format mm/dd/yyyy
while others are in the format dd/mm/yyyy. This could occur if your
regional date settings are normally formatted to dd/mm/yyyy but you
forget to change the date format settings to mm/dd/yyyy for a Breeze
session as recommended. If you then make the recommended date format
changes for the next Breeze session you may end up with mixed date
formats. To correct the dd/mm/yyyy format, start a Breeze session
with the recommended mm/dd/yyyy format. Then edit and save an
account or journal entry for the ledger without making any changes.

Path/File access error #75
If you encounter this error when doing a file operation, check
that you do not have the data file already open in another program
such as Access.

Payroll Reports do not have all the
columns displayed
Payroll reports are set up to print on legal size paper. If your
payroll reports appear to be cut off without all the columns
displayed, the report is likely being printed in letter size. This
is a printer driver problem. To correct the problem you need to
install the proper manufacturer's driver for the printer.

"Out of Memory" message received
when starting up program in Windows XP
If you receive an Out of Memory message when starting up the
program in Windows XP, check the Compatibility Mode in the program
properties dialogue. Remove any compatibility mode that may be set
by unchecking the option.

Report definition file changed
error message: "Cannot use report definition file c:\......\filename.rpt
because it appears to be modified from the original."
See the Help topics: How to use Reports [Report Definition File
Changed Error Message] and Working with Dates [Windows XP File Date
Changes]
The Windows XP operating system sometimes changes file date
stamps such as when the rollover of daylight savings
times occurs. This will trigger this problem.
The only solution to this problem is to uninstall and re-install
the program to get the original report definition "rpt" files.

In Windows XP, the Journal Form is
cut-off at the bottom and does not all display on the screen.
When using Breeze uncheck the "Keep the taskbar on top of other
windows" option in the Taskbar and Start Menu options in the control
panel.
|
Windows XP doesn't display Menu access
keys.
Menu access keys are the character in the menu name with an
underline that can be used to make a menu selection. This method is
not available for making a menu selection in Windows XP.

Using Microsoft Access 2000 or Access
XP with a Breeze data file
The Breeze data file is fully functional within Access 2000 or
Access XP. However, it is strongly
recommended that you do not alter the database structure
or do not edit data in Access
as discussed in the Help topic: File Access. You can add custom
reports to the file. However, remember to Post in Breeze before you
run your custom Access report. The safest approach to making custom
reports is to create a new blank database file in Access and link to
the table(s) in the Breeze database file you want to use for the
report. Develop the report in the new database using the linked
table(s). After the report has been developed make the database file
you created Read Only. It is recommended that you do not convert the
Breeze data file in Access. Instead use the Compact and Repair /
Convert utility in Breeze to convert a Breeze Version 1A file to
Version 1B file.
