How would you automate an Income Statement in Excel that requires Month and Year to Date calculations?
Simply More Reports does General Ledger calculations for a specific period which can be Monthly, Quarterly, etc. or Year To Date. You can persist the data for a calculation by running the report to a CSV file. Using persisted data allows you to develop statements in Excel that are not confined to a single pass through calculation.
To automate Financial Statements in Excel that require more than one reporting period would require that you use another Excel database file for each extra reporting period and then run separate General Ledger Calculations for each extra reporting period to update the data from Simply More Reports and to persist the data . You would then follow the Excel automation instructions to link to the respective database files. Excel allows you link to more than one external workbook.
Nothing happens when I try to use the Simply More Reports Excel Workbook Template?
When you open the SIMRptsCSVLink.xlt or the SIMRptsCSVLink_07.xlt Excel Workbook Template and nothing happens when you click on the Macro buttons, you likely have not set the Excel Macro Permissions to allow macros.
